You can login to and download and install the software. If you need more complex editing, Rush projects can be taken into Pro easily for more complicated editing. It might be nice to start with a project in Rush. You should have access to Adobe Premiere Rush (a "lite" video editor) and Adobe Premiere Pro (a full video editor) via the RUG login. To retain full capacity on the editing process, it is recommended to record the material separately and then edit it. It becomes harder to add to it without complex editing. However, recording a full presentation in such a manner will “lock” the possibilities afterwards to edit it. A basic tutorial can be found in the following video. The software has many different options to use various camera angles, insert slides, animations, text and more. OBS, on the other hand, is a more complex/complete software which allow to livestream. Have a look at the Loom documentation for more information. You will have the option to cut and remove any undesired parts. However, if your experience with editing is limited, we do not advise using the Premiere version.īesides being able to record a video, Loom allows you to do basic trimming of your video at the end of the recording. For a personalised, and more creative video it is recommended to use a full editing software such as Adobe Premiere Rush. Moreover, Apple offers a second tool that is worth mentioning here: Apple Clips. Mac users will have the possibility to use their own dedicated editing software: iMovie. We have put some emphasis on Adobe Premiere Rush, as that is one of the easiest tools to use for simple editing, and it is freely available for University of Groningen staff and students.Īlternatively, for PC users, Windows comes with the Movie Editor app pre-install on the computer, but it has very limited options when compared to Rush.
